Arrecife Carnival 2026: What is still on, a day by day without guessing

Ada Vidodo

So you thought Carnival was a one weekend thing? Cute. In Arrecife, Carnival is a multiday glitter marathon where the city basically says, “work? Never heard of something like that.”

This is the Arrecife Carnival 2026 schedule for the days that are still coming up, so you do not arrive on a Tuesday except for a parade and find a normal street.

On Saturday the 14th, Carnaval de día and Carnaval Juvenil, start early and end late

If you want maximum atmosphere with minimum effort, then the Carnaval de día Arrecife is your winner: street music, dancing and the whole city casually turning into a party map.

So what eve is on?

  • Carnaval de Día in multiple central areas (Plaza Las Palmas/ Avenida Vargas / El Almacén), running deep into the night.

  • Carnaval Juvenil in the evening, a big youth focused show.

How would a local do it? Turn up midday, leave and come back later. Arrecife does not reward rushing.

Sunday, 15th of February, An easy day (dance shows and a family friendly reset)

This is the “lighter” day, still Carnival but less intense than the big parade day.

Dance school exhibition at the Recinto Ferial in the early evening.

If you are with kids or you are recovering from Saturday, this is your soft landing.

Monday, February the 16th, Gran Coso, the big parade day.

This is the one tourists really mean when they search “Gran Coso Arrecife”

What is on:

  • Pasacalle Tradicional earlier in the day, old town flavour.

  • Gran Coso del Carnaval (main parade) in the evening, floats, murgas, comparsas, batucadas, costumes, the full spectacle.

  • After: music and verbenas in several central spots (expect late).

Pro tip: If you only do one Carnival day in Arrecife, do this one.

Tuesday, February the 17th. Kids costumes, traditional Carco vibes and concert night

This day is surprisingly good because it mixes cute, culture and big music

What is on?

  • Children 's costume contest and Carnavalito infantil (midday).

  • Traditional pasacalle around Charco de San Ginés (late afternoon), this is one of the most Arrecife settings you can get.

  • Carnival concert in the evening with big headline acts listed for the programme.

If you want the Instagram pretty version of Carnival that still feels real: Carco time.

The 18th of February, Wednesday. Entierro de la Sardina (the dramatic goodbye)

This is the famous funeral parade, everyone becomes a theatrical widow for a day, because apparently that is the healthiest way to end a party season.

What is on:

  • Entierro de la Sardina procession from the Ayuntamiento area to Playa del Reducto

  • Then the big burning (“Quema de la Sardina”)

Quick “which day should i go?” cheat sheet

  • Want the bigger parade? Monday February the 16th

  • Want day party energy? Saturday February 14th

  • Want kids, Charco and concert? Tuesday February 17th

  • Want the big finale and burning sardine? Wednesday February the 18th

If you want to keep it effortless, then Vidodo Guide helps you pin the right Carnival spots each day, so you do not waste your best night walking in circles.

What Is a Verbena in Lanzarote? A Tourist Guide to Local Summer Nights
You will see the word verbena on a fiesta poster and wonder what it means. It is not a concert, not a club and not quite a village party either. It is all three and none of them at the same time: a late-night local celebration with live music, dancing, food, neighbours, families, visitors and the kind of atmosphere you only really understand once you are standing in the square.
