Arrieta Lanzarote Guide, where the just pop by turns into staying all day

Arrieta Lanzarote Guide, where the just pop by turns into staying all day

Ada Vidodo

If you are looking for things to do in Arrieta Lanzarote, here is the real vibe: Arrieta is a small fishing village in north Lanzarote on the northeast coast of Lanzarote, it is the kind of place that feels easy, pretty and quite perfect.

This is my local style Arrieta day trip guide.

Playa de la Garita Arrieta is the main beach you actually want to spend time one

So, first stop: Playa de la Garita (also searched as Arrieta beach or La Garita beach Lanzarote). It is sandy, it is right in the village and one of the most family friendly beaches in Lanzarote because it is usually more protected than you’d expect for the northeast.

For chilling on the sand and swimming, the tide doesn't really matter as much here as in tiny coves, buuut always check conditions, because the ocean is the ocean.

Do not rush, walk the little promenade, breathe in the salt air and let the wind do its thing, The mix of breeze and sea air is a sleeping potion, you will be sleeping like a baby tonight.

Casa Juanita Arrieta, the Blue House moment

Even if you are not a photo person, you will be here. Casa Juanita Arrieta, the Blue House Arrieta,Is right on the seafront and is one of the most searched things in the village for a reason

Tiny Tip: go a little earlier or a little later if you want fewer people in your shot, the midday is lets say “popular”.

Charcón de Arrieta, the bonus natural pool

This is the part I’m going to describe as a local, because it matters.

Charcón de Arrieta is a small natural pool in Arrieta right by the seafront. It is a lovely bonus that people often miss, or they see it in the wrong moment and do not get why it is special.

It is best when the tide is higher, so check the tabla de mareas Lanzarote/ mareas lanzarote hoy and try to time it when the water level is up.

Quick stop: the César Manrique wind toy in Arrieta

If you are driving in or out, you will see the César Manrique wind toy, It is literally made to dance with the wind, very Lanzarot, very iconic. It is one of his Juguetes del Viento so that the islands wind would literally become part of the art.

Where to eat in Arrieta Lanzarote?

Arrieta is a fishing village so yes, this is the place for seafood in Arrieta Lanzarote. Keep it simple, fresh fish, papas, mojo and something cold to drink. The meal where you stop talking cause you are too happy eating.

Things to do near Arrieta if you want a north Lanzarote itinerary

If you are planning a whole day trip, Arrieta pairs perfectly with nearby north highlights like Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes. That combo is basically a ready made north Lanzarote itinerary.
