“Creation from the Canary Islands. Challenges and perspectives”

public
For two evenings, CIC El Almacén turns into a live lab of contemporary Canarian art 🎨✨. The encounter “Creation from the Canary Islands. Challenges and perspectives” brings together four artists –Will Encarnación, María Betancor Ravelo, Ione Domínguez and Darío Machín– and cultural manager Nira Cabrera to openly discuss what it means to create from a group of Atlantic islands today.
The format mixes one-to-one conversations, work analysis and round tables on topics such as territory, precariousness, working between islands and mainland, and how disciplines like painting, muralism, installation and photography engage with the reality of the archipelago. It’s aimed at artists, students, cultural workers and anyone curious about what is currently being created in the Canary Islands.
