A high-quality chamber music night in an intimate setting, performed by an eight-player string ensemble with strong Canary Islands roots. The concert is designed as an emotional arc called “From shadow to light”: it opens with depth and tension, moves into a vivid brand-new work, and ends with a big, bright piece that feels uplifting and expansive.
The centrepiece is “Ángel de arena”, a world premiere by Canary composer Cecilia Díaz Pestano, inspired by the idea of discovering the sea for the first time—how that wonder might “sound” in music. The full programme is:
