Puerto del Carmen Carnival 2026 — Opening Day

This is the official kick-off night of the carnival, designed so everyone can join: it starts with a warm, community-style event for older residents and then moves into a full stage show that sets the tone for the whole weekend.

First comes the senior carnival dance, a very local and friendly moment—families often come along, greet neighbours, take photos, and enjoy the first “carnival energy” of the year. After that, the night steps up with the Grand Carnival Gala, with comparsa performances (big costumes, choreography, percussion) and batucada (live street-drum rhythm). Later, DJs keep the party going, all centred in Plaza del Varadero, so you don’t need to move between different venues.
