This is one of the most “real carnival culture” nights: adult murgas compete on stage. A murga is basically sharp, funny musical satire—groups sing, act, and throw clever jokes about local life and politics, usually with bold costumes and big crowd reactions.
For Phase 1, each group typically performs multiple pieces, and the audience energy is a big part of the experience (lots of cheering, chants, and inside jokes locals love). If you want to understand how Canarian carnival really feels, this is a perfect night—just note that venue/time + ticket rules are still pending official publication.
