Yaiza Carnival 2026 — Presentation of Carnival Groups

This is the official opening gala for Yaiza’s carnival season, held in the town tent (“carpa”) in Uga. It’s basically a “meet the carnival” night: different local groups take the stage one after another, so you can see the styles and energy that will define the whole carnival period in the municipality.

The programme is performance-driven and very easy to enjoy even if you’re a visitor: a dance show to kick things off, then a full comparsa performance (big costumes + choreography + carnival percussion), followed by two batucadas bringing pure rhythm and street energy. After the stage acts, the night finishes with a public verbena (open-air dance party style) inside/around the same carpa, so it smoothly turns from “show” into “let’s celebrate”.
