Arrecife — Exhibition Opening: La profundidad de silencio (Ildefonso Aguilar) (Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz)

public
This is the official opening (vernissage) of a major exhibition by Lanzarote-based artist Ildefonso Aguilar, where the island’s volcanic landscape isn’t treated as “scenery” but as a language: stone, sand, lava texture, erosion, and silence become the main characters.

The show brings together recent work and earlier pieces across painting, photography, and audiovisual formats, and the mood is intentionally slow and contemplative—more “take your time and look closely” than “quick museum stroll.” If you like Lanzarote’s raw geology (Timanfaya vibes, lava fields, the island’s quiet), this exhibition is basically that feeling—translated into visual art.
