Painting with Cochineal Colours

Discover a different kind of artistic experience with “Painting with Cochineal Colours”, a creative workshop inspired by one of the most distinctive natural dyes connected to Lanzarote. 🎨

During the session, participants are introduced to cochineal and learn how this small insect produces a rich carmine red traditionally used to colour textiles, foods and other products. After a short introduction, guests explore the basics of colour making and experiment with different mixtures to create their own tones.

The workshop focuses on watercolour-style painting with vibrant shades of red, allowing each participant to create a personal artwork in a calm and creative setting. It is suitable for both adults and children, making it a lovely cultural activity for anyone looking for something hands-on and unusual in Puerto del Carmen. ❤️🖌️

The session is led by Bettina Cieslinski and takes place in the upstairs therapy house at Centro Antroposófico / Therapeutikum Lanzarote.
