Three Faces of the Same Rebellion: Talk by Yolanda Ruano

Teacher and researcher Yolanda Ruano looks at three great heroines of 19th-century fiction: Ana Ozores, Emma Bovary and Anna Karenina. Her talk examines how the patriarchal society of the time confined them, and what these novels say to readers today when read from a gender perspective. Ruano won the Premio Nacional de Ensayo for her work Autorretrato de Zenobia Camprubí. Coordinated by Elena Ramírez. About 60 minutes.
