The “Folding the Nautilus Spiral” workshop invites participants to explore one of nature’s most fascinating shapes through a creative paper-folding activity. 🌀
Inspired by the ancient nautilus, a marine creature known for its perfectly structured spiral shell, the workshop demonstrates how this mathematical form can be recreated using a single sheet of paper. This shape, known as a logarithmic or equiangular spiral, also appears throughout nature in shells, sunflowers and pinecones.
During the workshop participants learn how to build this spiral through folding techniques, combining biology, mathematics, visual design and creativity in a unique artistic experience. The finished piece can be used as decorative art or as a creative element for displays and window designs. 🎨
The session is led by Beatrix Wohlfeld and takes place in the creative studio of Centro Antroposófico / Therapeutikum Lanzarote in Puerto del Carmen.
Approximate price: €15 per person.
Tip: arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in and enjoy the introduction about spirals in nature.
